Ballet Gloria exists to create dance that opens up conversation with our community. We believe that movement is a universal language that can reach anyone, regardless of their background, and we seek to promote excellence while making the art of ballet accessible to people from all walks of life.

BG’s mission is:

To present the gospel of Jesus Christ to the widest possible audience through the medium of dance and personal witness.

To provide a visual and artistic witness in the arts community through classes and performances.

To teach students to be technically and artistically proficient in dance, and to encourage them in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Ballet Gloria consists of two parts: a professional contemporary ballet company and a school of dance.

In 2015, Lydia Markgraf began teaching ballet classes out of a church fellowship hall. As the need for excellent ballet training in the area became more evident, the handful of classes expanded into Ballet Gloria School. Today, BG School is able to offer dance classes in a variety of genres to dancers of all ages. Four professionally trained staff members ensure that the school remains true to its original goal of raising the standard for local dance education.

Ballet Gloria Company was founded in 2017 and continues to grow as we seek to provide professional caliber performances to northeast Ohio. The Company performs in schools, churches, senior centers, and other community venues throughout the year in addition to producing original full length ballets. BG received official nonprofit status in 2019, which allows the Company to focus fully on engaging the community with meaningful art.

We are always accepting new students and would love to have you anytime. Visit our Class Schedule for all our offerings.

The company is also looking to grow! If you are an accomplished Christian dancer who has graduated high school, check out our Company Auditions.
